Introduction  

At ILA Vietnam, we are committed to providing a high level of teacher support and development. We provide thorough induction programmes, regular workshops, assistance with lesson preparation and access to internationally recognised Cambridge Teacher Training courses conducted at ILA.

Induction

During your induction, you will meet the management team and support staff, be given a tour of the school and the Independent Learning Centre, and have the opportunity to observe current teachers in the classroom. You will also receive your teaching materials and support to plan your first few lessons.

Teaching Support Centre and Support Staff

Each training centre is fully equipped with a broad range of supplementary materials, including books, videos, CDs, DVDs, and computers which the support staff manage and update. Additionally, computers have internet access allowing teachers to search for extra material which may not be found in the supplementary resources already provided.

Academic Managers and Academic Coordinators

Our Academic Coordinators are available to provide support with teaching and classroom management and answer any questions you may have about resources or class preparation. Our Academic Managers provide support and guidance through observations and workshops and offer feedback relating to classroom practice with a view toward professional development.

Teacher Development Workshops

Workshops are offered each month and cover a broad range of topics relevant to EFL teaching, such as Songs in the Classroom, Teaching Pronunciation, and Language Awareness. Teachers can also suggest workshop topics on areas they feel would be useful to them.

Professional Development Interviews

Interviews between Academic Managers and teachers are scheduled every six months. This gives an opportunity to assess performance and for teachers to discuss future career goals.

Training Courses

Cambridge teacher training courses (CELTA, DELTA, and CELTYL) are conducted regularly at ILA. We offer discounts for current teachers and reimbursement of course fees to successful candidates who decide to stay on and teach at ILA.
