Our course trainers are highly competent and experienced Cambridge approved teacher trainers. They are employed by ILA specifically to manage and deliver the CELTA course.
As fully trained professionals, with many years experience of ELT classroom teaching, our trainers are both authoritative and informed.
The training procedure for Cambridge CELTA trainers is extremely rigorous. Not only are the trainers expected to have post-Diploma teaching experience, they are also required to have other, related industry experience.
It is perhaps the personal commitment that ILA teacher trainers bring to the courses they teach however, which make them stand out; a good trainer has to be keen to continue developing themselves as trainers, has to respect their trainees and has to love their job to do it well.

 | Paul Deneve Comparing it with other schools (in Italy, Turkey and the Czech Republic) where I’ve taught, I would say ILA is by far the best-equipped and most professional school I’ve seen, and definitely an excellent place to do the DELTA, in terms of both organization and resources: the teacher training coordinator is extremely helpful in taking care of all administration and dealing with all kinds of practical problems, staff members who already have the DELTA give encouragement and tips, and the extensive resource library has copies of all books on the course reading list. Doing the DELTA is never going to be eight weeks of solid fun so if you decide to put yourself through it, you might as well do it at a school where there are people and resources to support you. I’m very glad I have. |
